Family Collaborative Law
Family Collaborative Law is a different way to divorce. It is a supportive, considerate, sensible, constructive, and mutual approach to divorce. The key difference between collaborative practice and conventional divorce is the pledge to reach an agreement without going to court. The parties maintain control of all decisions instead of a judge making the decisions. In order to do that, the parties agree in writing to be part of a respectful process that leads to an out-of-court resolution.
You and your lawyer work as a team; your team will have access to divorce coaches, child specialists, and financial consultants to develop solutions and goals now and for your future. This process encourages mutual respect and emphasizes the needs of children by court avoidance. The individuals involved maintain control of the process, utilizing a problem-solving approach. This problem-solving approach provides for open communication, identifies/addresses interests and concerns of all involved, and prepares you for new lives.
